Intravenous Conscious Sedation

IV sedation at Eugene Dental Group, in Eugene, ORIntravenous Conscious Sedation is the most profound type of sedation we offer at Eugene Dental Group. Pre-medications will be prescribed to you the night before to help you relax.

At the beginning of your appointment, medications will be given to you through a IV, which should cause total relaxation and usually memory loss of the appointment. You will still be conscious, but usually you sleep through the procedure. You will still be given local anesthesia so you should not feel any pain.

You will need someone to drive you to and from your appointment, and stay with you until most of the effects have worn off. This usually takes 6–10 hours. You may not drive for 24 hours following the administration of IV Sedation.
